Karen E. Downing

Dr. Karen E. Downing is the Education Liaison and Foundations & Grants Librarian at the University of Michigan. Prior to her current position, she was the University Learning Communities Liaison, Assistant to the Dean for Cultural Diversity, and Coordinator of Academic Outreach at the U-M. Author of multiple publications on libraries and cultural diversity, she coauthored Multicultural America: A resource Guide on the History and Literature of Interracial Issues. In 2009, she received the American Library Association Equality Award, and in 2010 she was named the first annual Visiting Scholar for the Diversity Research Center at Rutgers Newark.
