Sandra Kendall

Sandra Kendall is the Director of the Health Sciences Library at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. She received her Master’s Degree in Library Science from the University of Toronto. Since then she has worked in corporate, public and not-for-profit libraries and has extensive business experience. She has presented at major library conferences including Internet Librarian and the Medical Libraries Association, and has published in major Canadian journals.

As a member of the Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration (TAAAC), she is working with the University of Toronto and the Addis Ababa University to develop further medical library services in Ethiopia and East Africa. She will tell us about Ethiopia and her group’s goals and objectives. Trained as a medical librarian and management consultant, she will give us a fascinating view of some of the hard ”back room work” involved in producing the best patient care services. After all of these years she states: “I am still surprised at the difference a good library can make to clinical decision-making.”
